“Having the NW Arkansas Area Agency on Aging ‘in my corner’ has been literally a lifesaver for me. But just ‘being alive,’ as a mere fact of longevity, isn’t worth much without some quality of life. And it’s in that regard that I am most appreciative of the people at AAA. A person in my predicament — low income, disabled, fragile, and dealing with several co-morbidities — could not possibly ask for a better friend and advocate than AAA.When I think about all they have done for me, helped me with, and provided — and all the bureaucratic stickerbushes they’ve extricated me from, I am almost rendered speechless wth gratitude. Ottis’s son, Johnny – says that you can’t beat his dads PCA and that she helps any way she can. He said it helps his elderly mom to know she has someone coming to help with his dad.

“The meals are such a tremendous help, I’m sick most days and can’t cook. My husband suffers from Alzheimer’s and can’t even put food on his plate. Meals on Wheels is the highlight of his day, he walks outside and waits for the truck every day. On Saturday and Sunday he will head out the door to go wait for Meals On Wheels and I have to get him and tell him, not today or he will be outside waiting. Meals On Wheels serves the food he needs to eat and most days I’m not able to cook for him.”

“I broke my arm and while back and still don’t have much use with it, the other arm is now hurting me from leaning on my cane with it so long. I can’t get to the store and haven’t been to Walmart since last August. I can’t even get out to buy food if I could cook. Meals On Wheels is fantastic! From time to time, if the mail has ran already I ask them to bring me my mail, they are so sweet to help me.”
